Several months ago, I reviewed the original Wii version of The Price is Right, which I received last Christmas. When I saw that Ubisoft/Ludia were preparing to re-launch the game as the “2010 Edition,” I became hopeful that the new version of the game would correct the original’s imperfections. You may want to read that original review before continuing on to see, besides adding more pricing games, how 2010 really compares to the original. [More »]

I normally don’t post things that basically amount to a free advertisement, but this deal is too good to pass up. Now through November 7th at Target, most Wii games are part of a “buy 2 get one free” promotion. In 20+ years of playing video games, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a deal like that. [More »]

This review is a bit late… I received The Price is Right for Wii and DS for Christmas. It’s rare that I get the same game for two different systems, but I figured the Wii version would be best for “normal” play, and the DS version would come in handy for road trips.
Right now, the DS version is on loan to a friend out of town, so I’ve barely played it enough to fairly review it at this time. But I have the Wii version here. Overall, a very good reproduction of the game, but, just like with any other computer version of TPIR, there are some minor imperfections. [More »]

Kudos to this guy (see video below) for making a PERFECT showcase bid on today’s episode of “The Price is Right.” However, a rant for host Drew Carey, who held a poker face through it all. Even the low-key Ben Stein would have had a better reaction. Former TPIR host Bob Barker would have made a big deal about it and asked the infamous off-stage official he calls “Fingers” if this has ever happened before in the show’s history.
Disneyland No Longer “Happiest Place on Earth”
Today was the big day (well, technically yesterday since it’s after midnight): Drew Carey’s first show as host of “The Price is Right.” And I hope Disney wasn’t watching when he came out of the big doors and proudly proclaimed the show to be “The happiest place on Earth.” Isn’t that the slogan for Disneyland? I’m sure news of a lawsuit would have been all over the place by now, so I guess they let it slide.
All kidding aside, there were pros and cons to Drew’s first day… read along, see if you agree, and feel free to leave comments at the end. [More »]
