Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed something that’s made driving in Syracuse a little more challenging — or at least interesting. Pedestrians who feel they’d rather risk death by walking in the street, rather than get their feet cold by walking on snowy sidewalks. [More »]

Taking advantage of Target’s current “buy 2 Wii games, get one free” promotion, I bought Press Your Luck along with two other game show games yesterday. (See also my reviews on Family Feud 2010 and The Price is Right 2010. To sum up this game in a sentence: did the programmers who made the game ever actually watch any episodes of Press Your Luck on TV? The problems begin as soon as you insert the disc in your Wii console. [More »]

What the hell is the deal with razor blade “cartridges” costing so much money? Seriously! The Gillette Fusion Power Cartridges pictured at left, a box of eight, retail for $23.99 at Walgreens (apparently the only retailer brave enough to post its prices online). It’s that time of year again… I work in the news media and when the weather’s really bad, our phones are flooded with schools callling in delays, cancellations and early dismissals. That’s all fine and dandy, but every year, I really get fed up with many of the “non-school organizations” that want their closings on the air. [More »]

I work in a television newsroom in a medium-sized market. Needless to say, we get a TON of e-mail every day… from viewers, from co-workers, from managers, and most of all: from various companies or organizations looking for coverage. There are 3 really bad habits in many press releases, which I absolutely hate. (And a few others that are pretty close runners-up.) [More »]
Rant: No Outdoor Syracuse Crunch Game
The Onondaga County Legislature is a bunch of morons (most of them, not all of them) for killing the idea of an outdoor AHL game at Syracuse’s Alliance Bank Stadium. There are so many reasons why these people were just plain stupid in their actions, I don’t even know where to begin. [More »]
