Review: Mario Kart Wii

Mario Kart Wii box artThe latest offering from Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise was launched today, and thanks to the nearest Wal-Mart being open 24 hours a day, that meant midnight.  Kelly and I were there, brought the game home… and before we knew it, it was already 3 AM.  There are good things and bad things about this game.  Read on… »»More

Review: Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)

Super Mario GalaxyI promised earlier to post reviews on the video games I got for Christmas.  Why has it taken me until February to review Super Mario Galaxy?  Because I’ve been so busy playing it, I didn’t feel like stopping to write about it!  The only bad thing about this game, is that I can’t even imagine how Nintendo could possibly top it. »»More

Review: SimCity Societies (PC)

SimCity Socities LogoI wasn’t expecting it, but I received “SimCity Societies” for Christmas.  And first off, I need to correct an earlier article about the game — it IS compatible with Windows Vista.

With that business out of the way, onto my review.  I haven’t played very much yet, so I’m not really sure whether I like it or not… but I have some first impressions. »»More

Review: M&M’s Kart Racing (Wii)

Avoid this game at all costsHere comes the first in a short series of reviews on new games we got for Christmas.  I’ll get right to the point: this one sucks.  (I paid for it, so I can bash it.)  Thankfully, I wasn’t “looking” for it — Kelly loves the M&M characters, and I found it by chance while looking for other gift ideas.  So, at least it wasn’t like either of us were anxiously anticipating its arrival on Christmas.  Click “more” to see the rest of the review I submitted to outpost.com. »»More

Rave: You Don’t Know Jack… is Back?

YDKJ Volume 3Just sitting around late Saturday night, I hear a familiar sound from Kelly’s computer — the beginning of a game of “You Don’t Know Jack.”  A sound I haven’t heard in years!  These games were awesome back when I was in college… so why haven’t we heard much about them in such a long time?  Well, after playing a few rounds, we discovered they have a brand new website… »»More

A New SimCity… but no Vista support?

SimCity Socities LogoThere’s a new SimCity game coming out soon!  I don’t know how long news of this game has been “out there” but I just discovered it the other day.  Instead of “SimCity 5,” they’re calling it “SimCity Societies” and it comes out November 13.  Hard to tell if I’ll like it… the official SimCity website doesn’t show a whole lot in their sneak preview.  For example, it doesn’t say which versions of Windows are supported. »»More

Rant: SONY Sucks!

Tic Tac Dough: DISCONTINUED!There’s a wonderful website I like to visit once in awhile when I get bored… it’s called FlashGames.  You can play Flash-based versions of several different TV game shows — usually just the bonus rounds (the best part).  It’s all free, the games work well (unlike some other sites I’ve tried), and it’s anyone’s guess how these guys got their hands on so many theme songs and sound effects “in the clear” (without any other background noise or talking).  But when I visited the site just now… it looks like SONY ruined quite a bit of the fun. »»More
