Several media outlets reported today that Wal-Mart is threatening websites that traditionally post listings of the big early-bird sales many major retailers are planning for “Black Friday,” the day after Thanksgiving. But Wal-Mart doesn’t want its ads leaked weeks in advance. So this year, they claim they’ll sue any website that posts Wal-Mart’s sale details before the ad “officially” appears in newspapers. The Carousel Center (or Destiny USA, whatever) recently decided to issue a complete ban on smoking, throughout the entire property. In fact, the Associated Press reports it’s the first mall anywhere in the country do instate such a wide-reaching rule. I’m not ranting about the ban itself, but about the smokers who actually complained about how they feel the new policy is unfair to them. »»More
I live in Madison County. So when I’ve got something coming to me via UPS, it usually goes through their East Syracuse warehouse. But why, does it then go to Rome — passing within minutes of my house en route — only to wind up just as far away from me as it was in East Syracuse? Brown’s wasting a lot of gas, and I have to wait longer to get my stuff!

Disneyland No Longer “Happiest Place on Earth”

Today was the big day (well, technically yesterday since it’s after midnight): Drew Carey’s first show as host of “The Price is Right.” And I hope Disney wasn’t watching when he came out of the big doors and proudly proclaimed the show to be “The happiest place on Earth.” Isn’t that the slogan for Disneyland? I’m sure news of a lawsuit would have been all over the place by now, so I guess they let it slide.
