SimCity SNES Page is Back

SimCity SNESOne of the few features making the transition from the “old” Peter’s Place to the “new” site is pretty much complete. There are tons of sites with SimCity 2000/3000/4 info, but mine has been the only one to cover the SuperNES version of the original. So that’s the one Sim Game page I’ve moved to the new site.

In the process, I updated quite a bit of it, and added some new graphics. When I have time, I may add some more screen shots, but even as it is now, it’s better than the original. Click here to check it out.

New! Peter’s Pix Section

After searching around for some good “photo management” programs, I’ve found one I liked… and more importantly, one that I was able to install without having a degree in rocket science. (Though it wasn’t exactly a simple “point and click” either.)

The result is the new Peter’s Pix section of the site. I’ve got pictures from trips, events and other random stuff. You can click the “Peter’s Pix” link in the menu, or click on any of the “random images” you see in the sidebar area as you browse around.

Rave: Darien Lake 2007

Darien Lake in 2004, courtesy coasterimages.comThis past weekend was “Welcome Back Weekend” at Darien Lake Theme Park. For the past several years, Darien Lake was owned by Six Flags. Over the winter, it was one of several parks Six Flags sold to a different company — I believe the name is Parc Management.

I had heard through someone at work, that admission was only $10 for opening weekend. Even though I didn’t see anything on the park’s website to confirm it, I convinced Kelly to go, and we brought along her 6-year-old niece, as Kelly was babysitting for the weekend.

When we got there… »»More

Rant: Idiot Drivers in Merge Lanes

More Idiots AheadYes, it’s already time for the next installment in the “Idiot Drivers” rant series. This one is plain and simple.

People seem to think being in the merge lane of an interstate highway means they have a God-given right to blindly enter the flow of traffic. »»More

Rant: Phone Calls at Work

Phone I don’t work at the phone company, but we often get calls from customers who need numbers to other businesses and agencies in the area.

What gets me is that 95% of the time, just as I start giving them the number… »»More

Rave: Time Warner (shocking)

Old DVR and New DVRI never thought my first “rave” post would have to do with Time Warner Cable, but lo and behold, here it is. (OK, well, a little bit of a rant leading up to it, because without the rant, there’d be no rave.)

The last couple of weeks, our DVR box has been screwing up big time. This wasn’t just the usual several-second delay between pressing a button and seeing a result, or the occasional hiccup while playing back a recorded show. »»More

Rant: Idiot Drivers in Work Zones

Lane Closed 1/2 MileYou know you’re approaching a road work zone when you see an orange sign like this one. Right now, these are a pretty common sight on the interstate highway between my home and my job.

If you’re like most people, as soon as you see that sign, you make sure you’re in the proper lane, well in advance. But you know there’s always that one idiot driver… »»More
