The latest offering from Nintendo’s Mario Kart franchise was launched today, and thanks to the nearest Wal-Mart being open 24 hours a day, that meant midnight. Kelly and I were there, brought the game home… and before we knew it, it was already 3 AM. There are good things and bad things about this game. Read on… »»More

Before I get into my review, I must tell you I’ve never been a big fan of fighting games. The only reason I ever played “Super Street Fighter II” or even “Mortal Kombat” was because one of my best friends at the time had both games, we always hung out at his house, and it was all he ever wanted to play. I just played for lack of choice, but never really got into it enough to learn all the combos, special moves and such.
Even now, I don’t know all the special moves — nor do I plan on taking the time to learn them all — but the chance to play as Mario, Link, Zelda, Samus Aran and dozens of other popular characters from every major Nintendo series greatly outweighs any opinion or dislike I’ve had for any other fighting games in the past. »»More
Just a quick post to share two websites I’ve recently discovered and recommend:
woot.com - They sell just one item, but it changes every day at midnight, central time. It’s usually stuff I don’t want or need, but still a daily “must-visit” in case they have a really good offer.
livenewscameras.com - You can watch live video feeds from TV stations all over the country, and the world. I could go on, but you just have to see it for yourself.
So after however the hell long it’s been that we haven’t had any new episodes of anything on TV, I was wandering around the ‘ol digital cable lineup… and came across BBC America on Demand. (If you’re in CNY, it’s channel 555.) Just for the hell of it, I looked to see what was there, and discovered a few episodes of the original version of “The Office.” »»More
I promised earlier to post reviews on the video games I got for Christmas. Why has it taken me until February to review Super Mario Galaxy? Because I’ve been so busy playing it, I didn’t feel like stopping to write about it! The only bad thing about this game, is that I can’t even imagine how Nintendo could possibly top it. »»More
It’s about time! We’ve all heard of people getting tickets for driving too fast. We’ve also heard it’s “dangerous” to drive too slow — but how often do the cops do anything about it? As one Tulsa TV station reports, police in Oklahoma are just as pissed off as I am, about slow drivers in the passing lane. Check out this video (you’ll be subjected to a 15-second ad first, but it’s well worth it). I wonder how long until we can get Troopers to take the same approach to slow drivers in E-ZPass lanes!
Plenty of rants lately… and it’s almost Christmas, so I guess it’s time for something positive. If you haven’t upgraded your Winamp to the latest version yet, go do it. There are 2 features in particular which I think are pretty cool. Today I’ll tell you why I like them — but there are some slight glitches to watch out for. »»More
Just sitting around late Saturday night, I hear a familiar sound from Kelly’s computer — the beginning of a game of “You Don’t Know Jack.” A sound I haven’t heard in years! These games were awesome back when I was in college… so why haven’t we heard much about them in such a long time? Well, after playing a few rounds, we discovered they have a brand new website… »»More
A recent article on USA Today’s website says a handful of movie theaters are making a bold move – banning teenagers from the property on Friday and Saturday nights. You might at first think that’s a pretty dumb move. But if you’ve ever been to a movie where you hear chatting and cell phones for the entire film, you know this rule is pure genius. »»More
