In recent years, many popular national chain restaurants have been making it easier for customers to order takeout. Many Chilis locations have a special “to go” entrance and counter, separate from the main restaurant. But they also have a sign on the wall, saying “Tips Appreciated.” Huh?? What’s up with that, and what do YOU think about it? »»More
As I was browsing news headlines… this one just struck me as VERY strange:
Britney Gives Sister Advice on Motherhood
Riiiiight. Let’s hope the younger Spears knows well enough to disregard ANYTHING she was told during that conversation.
Look at this thing! I was working on something entirely different, when I saw an ad for the CatGenie. Just for fun I clicked on the ad, then checked out the thrilling video demo. Immediately, I dropped the project I was working on to write the very post you’re reading now. Seriously — does anyone have this? Does it actually work, or is it just a big scam? »»More
Whether or not you have a Gmail account, check out their April Fool’s joke today:
http://mail.google.com/mail/help/customtime/index.html
Sadly… I actually believed it for a minute, until I got down to the complex mathematical formula. Working with people who don’t bother with April Fool’s Day jokes (or at least they haven’t yet), you lose your guard a little bit. »»More
If you can’t tell from the picture at left, I’m really sick of all the stories I hear about how the Syracuse University Athletics Department seems to be really pushy with people. Oddly enough, the one straw that broke the camel’s back was a recent article in the Syracuse Post-Standard, where a Carrier Dome usher was fired because he spoke critically of the team’s policies. »»More
What the heck happened to Mad TV? I never really caught onto Mad TV when it started, because it’s on at the same time as SNL, and for the past several years, SNL was too good to miss. But over the past year or so, I “discovered” Mad TV in reruns on Comedy Central… and eventually made a habit of catching the new episodes. You can’t go wrong with Frank Caliendo playing Rod Roddy and Michael McDonald as Bob Barker. Or even better, Michael McDonald’s popular Stuart character (shown at left). But this season, even before the Writers Guild strike, Mad TV has just flat-out sucked. »»More
I never thought I’d be writing something like this. Heck, shortly after the re-birth of this website, I posted a rant about how I was so sick about Paris Hilton being all over the headlines. Usually I don’t pay much attention to celebrity news, especially the tabloid-level stuff. But tonight, I actually think the paparazzi is going a little overboard with hassling Britney Spears. »»More
Ticket re-sale website Stub Hub tells CNN that the average price for a Super Bowl ticket is $4300. But even before the scalpers get involved, the article goes on to say the tickets were originally priced by the NFL at $700 and $900. This is just out of control, people! »»More

I was somewhat amused when I loaded up the Drudge Report late Tuesday night and found this headline in large text ABOVE the Drudge Report logo:
Seriously? Is this level of urgency necessary? Are people actually surprised to see Starbucks closing hundreds of stores? »»More
