We’re in the middle of a Nor’easter. As indicated in my last post, that’s no surprise… we live in the northeast U.S., hence, we get Nor’easters. It’s a way of life here. But what’s really irking me today is that my neighbors, whom we share a walkway with, NEVER shovel the walkway. Every time it snows, I’m the one who shovels. What’s worse… they have THREE kids. Two teens and one in his 20’s. The only time I see these lazy-ass kids is when they’re out under their porch smoking cigarettes (one of them illegally, mind you). Get these kids off their lazy asses and make them shovel, dammit!
Seriously, last winter, when we had a ton of snow in January and February, the path eventually just became covered with snow to the point there was an entire foot. And who finally caved in? I did, because I was sick of trying to trudge through it in regular shoes going to/from work. If I didn’t shovel that path, we all would have been truding through foot-deep snow until it melted.
I’m seriously tempted to make up some kind of sarcastic “How to Use a Shovel” pamphlet and leave it in their mailbox sometime. I just don’t know if it’s worth the time and the effort. If they’re too lazy to help on their own, I doubt a piece of paper will get them going. Either way, I just cannot wait to get a job where I make enough money to buy a damn house and get the hell out of this apartment.
