Rant: Phone Calls at Work

 I don’t work at the phone company, but we often get calls from customers who need numbers to other businesses and agencies in the area.

What gets me is that 95% of the time, just as I start giving them the number… they stop me.

“Oh, hold on while I get a pen.”

I always want to yell back, “You knew you were calling to ask for a number. So have a pen in hand already, moron!”

These must be the same idiots I always get stuck behind at the drive-thru, who pull up and sit there for 5 minutes because they don’t know what they want.

And it’s always (and only) when I’m running late to get somewhere else.
